Membership Categories and Fees

There are two categories of membership available in the ICD: Board and Individual. Each category and pricing structure has been designed to better meet the needs of our members and to add more value to their membership.

[Please note: as of July 1, 2009, the Corporate membership category is no longer available].

Board Membership

This membership category is for companies and organizations in the private, public, not-for-profit and Crown sectors that wish to sign up their entire board of directors as members of the ICD.

Effective July 1, 2009, boards in this category will be charged a flat fee based on the company's business sector and annual gross revenues.

Board Sector Pricing Structure

For-Profit Boards

Public/private company or for-profit Crown with over $1 billion gross revenue:

• $4,000 per annum (plus applicable taxes)
• Up to 15 members including CEO, CFO and Corporate Secretary
• Additional members are $200 per person

Public/private or for-profit Crown with over $500 million gross revenue:

• $3,000 per annum (plus applicable taxes)
• Up to 15 members including CEO, CFO and Corporate Secretary
• Additional members are $200 per person

Public/private or for-profit Crown with under $500 million gross revenue:

• $2,000 per annum (plus applicable taxes)
• Up to 15 members including CEO, CFO and Corporate Secretary
• Additional members are $200 per person

Not-For-Profit Boards

(Includes Crown corporations, hospitals, healthcare organizations, public universities and colleges, public education and research organizations, real estate investment trust and income trust companies, business and professional associations, and registered charities.)

Not-for-profit organizations with over $10 million gross revenue:

• $2,000 per annum (plus applicable taxes)
• Up to 15 members including CEO, CFO and Corporate Secretary
• Additional members are $100 per person

Individual Membership

This membership category is for individuals in the private, public, not-for-profit and Crown sectors who wish to join the ICD.

Features of the individual membership category:

• Fee: $395 per annum (plus applicable taxes)
• Take advantage of the ICD's education programs, professional development opportunities, current information and resources, networking events, and the ICD Directors Register board matching service to build and enhance your skills and knowledge as an effective director.
• Non-members applying for the Directors Education Program or enrolling in the Governance Essentials Program for Directors of Not-for-profit Organizations will receive a one-year complimentary ICD membership
