ICD Endorsed Programs

As the only member-based professional association representing
Canadian directors and boards across Canada, the Institute of Corporate
Directors (ICD) sets the standard for director education and
professional development programs across the country.
The ICD is the national endorsement and accrediting body for director
education programs and providers who meet a standard of quality
appropriate to the director community.
Programs seeking to be endorsed by the ICD are subject to a rigorous
process of review, whereby program content, learning outcomes, academic
and professional staff, delivery methods, and instructional facilities
among other criteria must all meet the ICD's standards.
The ICD's endorsement of an educational offering indicates that it
adheres to these same standards, and represents a learning opportunity
for directors of the highest quality that will benefit them in their
pursuit of becoming more effective directors.

management of the firms understand and implement effective governance
practices. This three-day program provides a framework for
directors, entrepreneurs and advisory board members to explore
governance issues unique to SMEs and allows participants to come up with
their own plan of action to ensure the survival, growth and success of
their businesses. Participants develop a "toolkit" for success,
applicable to SMEs at various stages of growth and development.
The SME program is offered by the Rotman School of Management at the
University of Toronto and is an ICD endorsed Director Education
Program.
