Why join the Institute of Corporate Directors?
The ICD's goal is to support its members in their ambitions
to be the most effective directors possible. We accomplish this by
providing formal director education and professional
certification; continuing education events hosted across
nine local chapters; and access to timely publications on
governance issues and best practices.
We also provide tools and resources to assist members in
enhancing their board opportunities including a
unique board matching and referral service, networking events and
helpful information on developing a board placement strategy.
Our vibrant governance community includes:
- Directors, former directors, and aspiring directors;
- Senior executives who work directly with board members and who wish
to serve on boards;
- Other professional service providers, educators and academic
researchers who are committed to corporate governance.

2011 ICD Fellow

Maureen Kempston Darkes, O.C., O.Ont., D.Comm., LL.D.,
F.ICD serves on the boards of Canadian National Railway,
Brookfield Asset Management, Irving Oil, Enbridge Inc. and Bridgepoint
Health Foundation. Ms. Kempston Darkes joins a distinguished group
of directors as a 2011 ICD Fellow.
