About the ICD
The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) is a
not-for-profit, member-based professional association representing
Canadian directors and boards across the for-profit, not-for-profit, and
government sectors.
With more than 4,000 members and a network of nine
chapters, the ICD promotes the professionalism and effectiveness of
directors by providing quality director education and professional
certification; opportunities for continuous learning and networking
through local chapter events; board placement support and resources; and
access to timely information on current and emerging governance issues
and best practices.
The ICD is the national endorsement and accrediting body
for director education programs and providers who meet a standard of
quality appropriate to the director community.

The ICD is a founding member of the Global Directors
Development Circle (GDDC).The GDDC is made up of the leading
professional membership organizations for directors from Australia, New
Zealand, South Africa, the UK, the US and continents and aims to foster
close cooperation between member organizations, sharing knowledge and
good practice on national, regional and global levels.
