About the Blue Ribbon Commission Final Report
The ICD Blue Ribbon Commission’s Report plays a significant
role in the crucial governance-related function that compensation plays
in organizations. The report champions a ‘new standard’ for
transparency about compensation decisions and provides a straightforward
process that companies of any size can follow to more closely link
executive pay to the actual performance of the company. The report also
calls for improved financial and human resources literacy among members
of Compensation Committees, and an overall increase in independence of
the committee and its advisors.
The Commission’s report is based on comprehensive research
undertaken by researchers from the Richard Ivey School of Business, The
University of Western Ontario.
About the Blue Ribbon Commission
The ICD Blue Ribbon Commission on the Governance of Executive
Compensation in Canada is comprised of a group of leading Canadian
businesses, organizations and individuals who have come together to
sponsor research and provide recommendations to improve the decision
making process with respect to executive compensation, and to provide
input to the federal government for possible changes to the Canada
Business Corporations Act.
