Two years ago, no one could have imagined the changes we have seen in how we live our daily lives. Covid, fires, a heat dome, unprecedented rain and flooding are challenging us to adapt and innovate in ways we would not have expected, changing how we live, work and play.

What does the future hold for our region and communities? How can we become more resilient to environmental shocks and prepare for the impact of novel technologies? Engaged and informed community governance, planning, design and strategies are essential to ensure we have the capacity to adapt and the infrastructure to sustain healthy communities in the future.

This session brings together an expert panel representing diverse governance, social and corporate perspectives that are key to shaping our infrastructure and collective future. It will focus on the issues, strategies and challenges we face in planning communities for the future, and what success might look like for Kelowna and our region in 25 years.
