Dr. James (Jim) D. Fleck

Past Chair and Director of Numerous Public, Private, Non-Profit and Governance Boards
Dr. Fleck’s contribution to the knowledge and practice of good governance has been both as a practitioner and professor/teacher.
He has served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Fleck Manufacturing Limited, ATI Technologies, Alias Research, Business for the Arts, Art Gallery of Ontario, Canadian Museum of History, Canadian War Museum, Power Plant Art Gallery at Harbourfront, Tennis Canada, University of Toronto Schools.
He has also served as a Board Director of Rogers Multimedia Inc, Certicom, Promis Systems, Travelers Insurance, Zurich Insurance, the Banff Centre.
In addition, Dr. Fleck has taught at Harvard Business School, INSEAD, Rotman School of Management, Ivey Business School and Schulich School of Business.
Dr. Fleck made a significant contribution to public governance under former Premier Bill Davis as the Executive Director of the Ontario Committee on Government Productivity which created the current Cabinet committee structure and processes. For this, he received the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal of Distinction in Public Service, Ontario’s highest honour for public service. He later served as Secretary of Cabinet in Ontario.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Fleck served as International President of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
