Herb Pinder is a Saskatoon-based entrepreneur with an extensive business and governance career. He spent 10 years in a family business, 35 years representing the contractual and financial interests of hockey players, and almost nine years managing a private equity firm.
Over 45 years, he has served on 50 boards, including private and public companies, crown corporations, a trust, a co-op, and professional partnerships. With a focus on energy, the industries he has worked in include merchandising, sports, hospitality, engineering, real estate, financial services, technology, and airlines. Not-for-profits include sports, business development, public policy, drug prevention, education, and innovation - community, national, and international organizations.
Notable companies include Canadian Airlines, Viterra, ARC Resources, YPO International, C.D. Howe, Fraser Institute, Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame, and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
Other honours include being awarded a bronze medal for hockey at the 1968 Winter Olympic Games and a Doctor of Law at the University of Saskatchewan, and being named a Member of the Saskatoon and Saskatchewan Halls of Fame.
