Strengthening Governance Foundations (SGF)
Bridge governance knowledge and boardroom impact through applied, scenario-based learning.
The ICD Strengthening Governance Foundations (SGF) is an on-demand course designed for directors who have completed the ICD-Rotman Governance Essentials Program (GEP). In just three hours of flexible, self-paced learning, SGF bridges the gap between foundational training and advanced governance education, giving directors practical tools to strengthen their oversight and boardroom contribution.
Participants progress through scenario-based modules at their own pace, applying governance frameworks to real-world board challenges and reflecting on their decisions through guided exercises. The course is designed to simulate boardroom dynamics in a flexible, self-directed format, allowing directors to practice oversight skills and immediately connect lessons to their own board experiences. With content developed under the guidance of ICD’s National Academic Director, Maureen Jensen, SGF ensures high-quality learning while offering the convenience of on-demand access anytime, anywhere.
