Politics Relationships and Governance: Year-End Holiday Gathering with The Honourable Gary Doer

Governance at the Board table can include many considerations. We often think of oversight of strategy, risk, operational performance, financials, and the like. But of course, there are many external influences that may have to be considered, and not just the competitive map.

The political landscape, regulations, cross-border relationships, international agreements, and much more, are all part of a Board’s oversight responsibilities. These areas are of increasing importance in the world affairs and business climate of recent years.

Please join our host, Bill Baines of our Chapter Executive, in welcoming our guest speaker, the Honourable Gary Doer. Gary will share with us his thoughts on the Canadian, USA, and international environment, and how these observations might and should influence governance considerations at the Board table, applying his own considerable Board table experiences.

This will be our last Chapter event in 2024; we celebrate our Manitoba ICD year and the holiday season with a late afternoon gathering of discussion and socializing with our fellow ICD members and guests.
