The ICD warmly welcomes you to Halifax for the 2026 ICD National Director Conference & Fellowship Awards Gala.

We encourage all attendees to join the Welcome Reception at Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, one of Canada’s most significant national historic sites. As the gateway for over one million newcomers, it reflects the values of inclusion, resilience, and nation-building that continue to shape Canadian organizations today.

Experience the unique flavours and sounds of Halifax and the Maritime region while networking. Please note that a selection of shellfish and seafood canapés will be served at the Opening Reception, offering a taste of the region’s renowned coastal cuisine.

Shuttle service from Pier 21 will run every 15 minutes from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM, with stops along the Halifax waterfront and at host hotels. Many restaurants are also within a short 5 to 10 minute walk.

Please note that several restaurants are closed on Monday evenings. With conference and cruise activity in the city, advance reservations are recommended.

Getting Around

Shuttle service will be available between host hotels and key conference venues, including the Halifax Convention Centre and Pier 21.

For nearby locations, walking is often the most convenient option.

Please note that parking is not available at CFB Halifax. All tour departures and returns are from the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.

The 2026 ICD National Director Conference & Fellowship Awards Gala will take place at the Halifax Convention Centre, located in the heart of downtown Halifax. The venue is within walking distance of the city’s waterfront, restaurants, and the official conference hotels.

The Convention Centre is easily accessible on foot from nearby hotels. Signage will be in place to guide delegates to registration and session rooms.
