Indigenous Participation on Boards: The Governance Opportunity in Front of Us

Indigenous peoples represent 4.1% of Canada's available workforce — yet hold just 0.5% of corporate board seats at federally regulated public companies. Five years after mandatory CBCA diversity disclosure requirements came into force, that gap has barely moved. What is driving persistent underrepresentation, and what does it mean for those who take governance seriously?

Join us for a candid conversation with two leaders at the intersection of Indigenous rights, reconciliation, and governance. Together, they will explore why boardroom diversity commitments have stalled for Indigenous peoples and the structural, historical, and recruitment barriers that exist.
