Re-Examining Board Chair and Board Members’ Inter-Related Roles
The critically important role of the Board Chair – and the roles of individual Board members in relation to the Chair – are sensitive issues that are rarely discussed at the boardroom table.
Join us at this interactive event focused on this difficult issue that can often confront Boards. Utilizing a new “Three Scenario” format, participants will discuss a fictitious case study, “The George Chang General Hospital”. Each participant will join a group to discuss a specific scenario regarding the role of the Chair and will then engage in conversation with the Moderator about three challenging scenarios.
The Case Study is based on a fictitious community hospital facing both opportunities and challenges; however, the conversation about the critical need for a Board Chair who is fully engaged, knowledgeable about a Chair’s role, and appropriately supported by all members of the Board, is relevant to boards in all sectors.
The session will be guided by a Moderator who will take participants through the peer-to-peer discussions and will also provide additional insights on the issues raised in the Case Study.
