Virtual Director Dilemma: Navigating Strategy and Board Engagement
Join us online for a focused, interactive workshop exploring a real-world governance dilemma faced by the Princess Elizabeth Performing Arts Centre, a long-standing arts organization confronting shifting audience behaviour, declining donations, and differing viewpoints at the board table.
Participants will examine how the board can revisit strategy, rethink programming and audience focus, and strengthen its own engagement during a period of change.
Key Themes:
• Finding the right level of board involvement during strategic shifts
• Ensuring the board has the skills needed for the future
• Weighing the risks and benefits of major programming changes
While this case study applies to a not-for-profit performing arts organization, the underlying principles offer practical insights for directors of all not-for-profit organizations and government agencies navigating uncertainty and transition.
