As a response to climate change and the energy transition, the corporate community is awash in net zero commitments, which stretch out to 2050. It’s anticipated that the focus on climate and the energy transition will continue to gather momentum in 2022 as Canadian public companies face new mandatory disclosure requirements from the Canadian Securities Administrators.  This session will enable you to hear from directors of companies leading in this space and hear about lessons they’ve learned on their companies’ strategic sustainability journeys.  These seasoned directors come from key sectors affected by the energy transition and are of specific interest to B.C. and Alberta, including agriculture, utilities, energy and mining. They will discuss: how they’ve engaged in the strategic conversation; whether and to what extent they’re engaging with shareholders on the topic; and what practical suggestions they can offer to others that are not as far along on their sustainability journeys.
