CVCA and ICD Launch Application Process for the Private Equity Cohort of the Private Capital Governance Program

TORONTO – September 26, 2022 - The Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA) and the Institute for Corporate Directors (ICD) are pleased to announce applications are now being accepted for the private equity (PE) cohort of the new Private Capital Governance Program, developed in partnership with the Institute of Corporate Directors. The program will focus on providing PE investors with the tools and resources to maintain a competitive edge and make a meaningful impact on the boards that they serve.

Building off the highly successful launch of Private Capital Governance Program focused on venture capital, the first private equity cohort of the program will be delivered on November 22 and 29, 2022 online, and December 6 and 7, 2022 in-person in Toronto.

The Private Capital Governance Program is a blended-learning program that combines self-directed asynchronous online learning with live online and in-person sessions, including intensive discussions, case analyses, and small in-person group meetings with other private equity professionals. The program draws upon academic research and current governance practices, with a focus on providing participants with practical skills and strategies to enable them to make a significant difference in the governance of their portfolio companies upon program completion.

The Private Capital Governance Program (Private Equity Cohort) program will be of benefit to private equity investors who currently serve as board directors. The program will refresh participants’ understanding of best practices and provide insights about recent corporate governance developments. The program will also be of significant benefit to independent directors seeking to improve their performance as they serve on the boards of PE-backed organizations.

Upon completion of the Private Capital Governance Program (Private Equity Cohort), program participants will receive a unique digital and paper Certificate of Completion from the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA) and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). This document will showcase your achievements and commitment to board governance.
