The Board's Role in Indigenous Economic Reconciliation

Please join us at the newly opened Native Women's Association of Canada's NWAC Indigenous Culture Centre for a discussion on the role of the corporate sector in Indigenous economic reconciliation. Our holiday reception will follow.
The 92nd Call to Action from the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada calls upon Canada's corporate sector to apply the principles of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous peoples to:
"Ensure that Aboriginal peoples have equitable access to jobs, training, and education opportunities in the corporate sector and that Aboriginal communities gain long-term sustainable benefits from economic development projects."
Our expert will discuss the role of the Board of Directors in answering this call.
After this discussion, we will have canapes and mocktail refreshments available. There will be an opportunity to tour the facility either on your own or with one of the Centre's guides, appreciating the gallery of Indigenous art throughout this unique building.
Formalities start at 5:15 p.m.
