Artificial Intelligence - What should your board be doing now ?
We have all heard about the seemingly limitless potential of AI to achieve greater efficiencies and create new opportunities for organizations of all kinds, both large and small and for profit and not-for-profit. But as directors, how do we move the conversation from the theoretical to the practical and ensure that management is considering where AI can enhance opportunities for the organization we oversee? Tailored for directors who understand AI's potential but seek guidance on its strategic oversight, this session offers an opportunity to delve into the complexities of AI governance.
AI continues to evolve at a rapid pace. Directors are working to cut through the noise and focus on helping organizations strategically use AI and better understand the related risks. During this interactive in-person session we will discuss key questions to directors enhance their boards’ readiness to navigate AI’s rapid evolution, such as:
• How does the board assess management’s aptitude and attitude towards AI, and ensure that management’s skills as developed or supplemented as needed?
• What should the board consider when making decisions on allocating resources to prudently exploring AI opportunities?
• Use of AI will change operations, with potentially profound implications for the workforce, including changed responsibilities and skill sets, as well as for the communities the organization serves. When and how should the board be considering such issues?
• As AI reshapes different sectors, what steps can boards take to future-proof the organization?
• What are some of the unique challenges for not-for-profits in considering AI opportunities?
Our panel of seasoned directors will launch a thought-provoking discussion, followed by a dynamic Q&A, sharing their experiences, some successes and failures and hurdles their organizations have had to overcome on their journey, their learnings and their thoughts on what the different organizations they serve hope to achieve over the next few years.
