The ICD Fellowship designation is the highest distinction the ICD confers on corporate directors. It was established in 1997 to honour individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Canadian enterprises and not-for-profit organizations by bringing robust corporate governance leadership to boardrooms across the country.

According to Rahul Bhardwaj, ICD President and CEO: “Factors outside the boardroom are demanding ongoing reinvention from companies and their boards. Contentious issues previously beyond directors’ purview require careful yet courageous and innovative stewardship. This year’s Inductees are the embodiment of this.”

Nominated by their peers, the Inductees are reviewed by a Selection Committee that includes highly respected individuals from Canada’s director community. In addition to demonstrated leadership on the boards on which they serve, other contributions to excellence in governance are considered, such as thought leadership, and education and mentorship activities.

The Inductees join a prestigious group of exemplary directors, all of whom have earned the respect of their peers for their dedication to transparency, accountability, and performance in boardrooms across Canada.

The F.ICD designation will be conferred at a ceremony to be held later this year.
